# Boogie Data vs PriceCharting

> Boogie Data's API and MCP server are launching soon; its prices are planned and nothing is for sale yet. Competitor facts come from their own public pages on the dates shown.

For card dealers and collectors choosing a data source. PriceCharting works today; Boogie Data's API and MCP server open soon, and our history is short (most of it since September 2026). What we offer is a lower starting price, $5 a month for one card category in one dataset, over a REST API and an MCP server for AI agents. Every PriceCharting fact below links to its source and the date we read it. To hear when they open, [join the waitlist](/#waitlist).

## Who each is for

- **PriceCharting:** Collectors and sellers looking up values, with paid plans for API and CSV access.
- **Boogie Data:** Dealers, collectors and AI agents who want sold prices as rows, one card category at a time.

## Where PriceCharting is stronger

- Free value lookups with historical price charts and a collection tracker, without paying. ([pricecharting.com](https://www.pricecharting.com/pricecharting-pro), checked 2 November 2026)
- A working API and full CSV download today, on the $49 Legendary plan. ([pricecharting.com](https://www.pricecharting.com/pricecharting-pro), checked 2 November 2026)

## Where Boogie Data is stronger

- Individual sales over the API, each with its sale date, venue, grade and price; you page through them by the date we collected them (from September 2026). PriceCharting's API returns current values only; its historic prices and sales are not supported there. ([pricecharting.com](https://www.pricecharting.com/api-documentation), checked 2 November 2026)
- An MCP server for AI agents. PriceCharting's API documentation mentions none. ([pricecharting.com](https://www.pricecharting.com/api-documentation), checked 2 November 2026)
- Lower starting price, for a smaller unit: $5 a month or $50 a year for one card category in one dataset (planned), against the PriceCharting Collector plan at $6 a month or $59 a year. Theirs is a whole-plan price; ours is per card category, per dataset, so add up the card categories and datasets you need before comparing. ([pricecharting.com](https://www.pricecharting.com/pricecharting-pro), checked 2 November 2026)
- Each sale keeps its venue, date, grade, grading service, price basis and source link.
