# Active listings

**Active listings:** The number of short-term rental listings a public search page reports for a destination.

## How we measure it

We record the destination total the page publishes, each month, with the date.

## What it is not

It counts what the platform shows, not licensed units, and one property can appear as more than one listing.

## Where it appears in the data

Field names as the API returns them; each dataset's page in the API lists the field's type and unit.
