# Price basis

**Price basis:** A label on every price that says what the number includes: a hammer price, a price with premium, an asking price or a price where the venue does not say.

## How we measure it

Each venue's results are labelled once, from how that venue states its prices.

## What it is not

Two prices with different bases are not directly comparable.

## Where it appears in the data

Field names as the API returns them; each dataset's page in the API lists the field's type and unit.
