Nights taken and released

Nights taken and released: Calendar nights that changed from open to closed (taken) or from closed to open (released) between two observations of the same listing.

How we measure it

We compare consecutive calendar snapshots and count each change, with the number of days between them.

What it is not

A released night is often a cancellation or a host unblocking dates, not lost demand.

Where it appears in the data

Field names as the API returns them; each dataset's page in the API lists the field's type and unit.
